Fall 2013 Recruitment Week!

Well sisters, it's that time of year again. We're about to start Fall Recruitment, and we've got lots of awesome activities planned!

There will be an event each night from September 9th through September 12th. You do not have to attend them all, but doing so will really help you get to know us and let us get to know you! September 13th there will be an invite-only formal dinner, and how can we invite you if we don't know you? :)

Sister Spotlight - Lauren Hansen

Name: Lauren Hansen

Birthday: May 19, 1992

Semester Initiated: Fall 2011

Favorite Color: Peacock Blue

Favorite Things: I love spending time with my boyfriend, family, pets and friends. I also really enjoy shopping and catching up with my best friend in Ohio.

Hobbies: I pretty much love doing anything crafty.

My Personal Goals: I really want to find a job in the CFISD district doing what I love most: teaching music.

Why I Love SAI: I love SAI because my family moved out of state, and SAI provides me with a network of wonderful sisters to lean on when I can’t easily be with my family.

Initiation Spring 2013

Last Saturday we Initiated four new members to the Beta Theta chapter!

Class of Spring 2013

 

 Annalis Mays, Stephanie Lemon, Dunia Cordova, and Emma Simmons

Annalis is a Music Performance Major who plays Oboe. Lemon is also a Music Performance Major and plays the Clarinet. Dunia is another Clarinet player, and is a Criminal Justice Major. Emma also plays Clarinet and is a Music Education major.

Congrats to all four of these awesome ladies!

Also, Thank you SO MUCH to the sisters of the Lambda Zeta chapter for coming out and supporting our new initiates! We were so glad to have you there with us. :)

Spring Musical 2013

We had our Spring Musicale on April 14th. Stephanie Jones, Katherine Gonzalez, Lauren Hansen, and Frances Villarreal all performed solos and did an incredible job! Cristina Barrera and Cori Reebenacker performed a clarinet duo, which sounded absolutely beautiful. As a chapter we sang the SAI Chorale, Pan in Cannon, SAI Garden, Our Symphony, and The Lord Bless You and Keep You.

Hobbies: A lot of Netflix and sleeping! Also, I love my dog.

My Personal Goals: Graduate May 2014, and pay off my student loans a year later. I'm a really boring, responsible person!

Why I Love SAI:No group of people have ever been more loving, dedicated, and supporting than my sisters. How could you not want to be a part of these amazing girls?!

Katherine's dog Koda, who she got from the animal shelter in Conroe about 10 months ago. Katherine says that Koda is the most important thing in her life, and everyone around her knows she won't shut up about her.

My Personal Goals: To graduate Spring 2014, go to grad school, and get a job as a high school choir director.

Favorite Things: Music, Teaching, Family and Friends.
Hobbies: Hanging out with friends, reading, and just having fun!

My Personal Goals: To graduate next spring and hopefully find a job teaching elementary school music.

Why I Love SAI: Being an only child I love having a group of girls that I can call sisters and have fun promoting women and music in the community with. These girls mean everything to me and I love them all dearly. Music is everything to me and I'm glad I'm a part of an organization that shares the same passion as I do.
